The thriving evergreen state, Karnataka which has got plains, plateaus, coastal regions of Karavali, and hilly Malenadu region, is quite popular for its cool climatic conditions and scenic beauty. The state is also becoming much more significant with its abundant river resources, like Sharavathi, Cauvery, Krishna…., and magnificent mines at Kolar, it is also becoming the most chosen spots for private organizations and industries to invest in the business activities in Karnataka.
Economy
Karnataka’s economy is majorly triggered by the developments of the flourishing industrial sectors, which includes both public and private sectors, such as, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, etc… many of the country’s premier research institutions are located in Karnataka, say for example, ISRO, Central Power Research Institute, and many more… This has laid a strong industrial foundation, as a result the real estate too has started to grow at an increasing rate in the state. Education
The average literacy rate in Karnataka according to the 2001 census was around 67% and it is been inundated with many prominent educational institutions in the country, such as IIM, Indian Institute of Science, National Law School of India University, etc… It has got a wide range of professional universities, public schools, private aided schools, private unaided schools, government institutions, etc… The plan of establishing an IIT at Muddenahalli in the coming years has added more promising prospects into the education category.
Tourism
Karnataka could be depicted as the dynamic destination for tourists, as they could enjoy in the botanical gardens in the Bangalore city of the state, and architectural beauty and cultural heritage in the Mysore city, besides the joy of beach in Mangalore city, and abundant coffee estates in a natural backdrop in Coorg, etc… It is also popular for gigantic shopping malls and entertainment features in addition to the infrastructure best example, i.e. the secretarial office of the Karnataka government, namely the Vidhana Soudha. The scenic beauty of the state is one of the most attractive features of tourist attraction, especially the Jog falls, which is the tallest waterfalls in the country, has been one of the major characteristics of tourism in the state. There is question about the religious spread in the state, especially the Hindu temples and architectural monuments could be found everywhere in the state. All these features have attracted people to the state from all the parts of the country and also from many parts of the world, as a result the floating population is quiet very high in Karnataka. It has also evolved as one of the favorite spots for the tourists under the cadre of ‘health tourism’ and it is consistently treating around 8000 tourists, every year.
